Down to the Bone: The Grand Slam
For Seattle’s annual Grand Slam of Poetry, a new unique micro-identity was created. The standard, muscle ripped flexed arm is replaced with a skeleton arm clenching a microphone, with the addition of the tagline Down to the Bone. The Tao Te Ching
This ancient Chinese text needed a refresh for the 21st Century. From one large illustration of a tree created by blowing ink across a page, a vector rendition was made and then sliced into 81 pieces on a 9 by 9 grid — one slice for each verse of the Tao.
